My very first video tutorial for guitar is live!

As some of you may or may not know, aside from being a professional musician, I have also been teaching guitar for over 15 yrs and have enjoyed working with and helping hundreds of students young and old. Over this time there have been many “how can I learn to play that?” questions, and one of the most popular questions I receive relates to right hand groove playing.  So after being inspired by my good mate David Shanhun (an amazing artist/educator from NZ)  I have put together my very first video tutorial for guitar! In this two part video lesson you will learn how to play my original song “Back In Return” on acoustic guitar and discover the techniques I am using to generate this reggae style groove.  Click here to find out more Acoustic Reggae Style Groove Lesson or head on over to the shop and dive straight in. Enjoy!

Bring On Summer!

Summer is almost here, the season for afternoon beach hangs, cold beverages and no more wetsuit…YES!  Inspiration came knocking during the Winter months and I am excited to announce I have a bunch of new songs on the way. Really looking forward to getting back into the studio early next year to capture the next offering.  Also can’t wait to head back to Woodford Folk Festival this December.  I’ll be facilitating “Songsmith” in The Singing Space where myself and a special guest each day will deconstruct and discuss the art of songwriting. This is going to be fun!

Hope to see some of you there… MM

New Music Video “Paper Planes”

I am SO EXCITED to finally be able to share with you my new music video for “Paper Planes”

Sometimes we get so caught up in the day to day tasks and pressures of life we can forget about the things that really matter. I will be forever grateful to my 6yr old son who reminded me of how powerful and important it is to be present and stay connected. This particular afternoon we spent together changed my life and replenished my heart and soul.

Please share with all your friends and family, especially all the amazing parents out there who might be missing their kids..

Much love to all

Back To Work

This month always begins with celebrating my birthday, another amazing year to be grateful for. The past two months have been filled with the usual festive activities of eating and drinking way too much!  Time to get back to work and lose some of that Christmas cheer… lucky for me my beautiful wife is a personal trainer 🙂

Woodfordia & Beyond

I couldn’t have imagined a better way to bring in the new year.  Woodford Folk Festival is truly a unique and special event and I was so happy to be a part of it.  This is a snap shot of me sharing the stage with my good friend Darren Percival, one of many uplifting “Woodford moments”.  Wishing everyone a safe and abundant 2016!!!

Chasing Fairytales

We did it!!! Thanks to your generous support the crowd funding campaign was a huge success, and you have enabled me to bring my next musical offering to life. It’s called “Chasing Fairytales”, a collection of seven new original songs that I am very proud of and so happy to be able to now finally share with you.  Enjoy…

I couldn’t have imagined a better way to end what has been an amazing year, performing at Woodford Folk Festival!  Being here with my family and friends for the week was truly inspirational to say the least.  To be among so many incredible artists, especially “Mr Percival” (Darren Percival) reminded me of how powerful music can be in bringing people together, rejoicing together, facing fears together, sharing life’s ups and downs together.  I witnessed and experienced many moving moments which will stay with me and energise me forever.

I would like to sincerely wish you all a happy, safe and inspiring new year.

Much Love
